American Heritage rolls past Dade Christian
West Boca eliminated from playoffs
American Heritage-Delray quarterback Justin Feagin ran for 136 yards
and three touchdowns to lead the Stallions to a 42-21 rout of Dade
Christian Friday.
American Heritage will travel to face Glades Day for Friday’s
state semifinals. The Stallions defeated the Gators 33-8 during the
regular season in Delray Beach.
Friday’s win avenged the Stallions’ 21-7 loss to the
Crusaders in last season’s state quarterfinals.
James Bradley rushed for 120 yards and a touchdown, and Dominique
Battle scored on a 6-yard run for the Stallions.
Jake Walker also scored on a 20-yard run.
Dwyer tops West Boca
Dwyer (10-2) earned its spot in the regional finals with a methodical
38-17 win against West Boca Raton (7-5) in a Class 4A regional semifinal
at Blum Stadium.
West Boca’s only touchdowns came in the final four minutes
of the game on a 5-yard run by Marquis Jones, who added a 52-yard
scoring run with 32 seconds remaining.
Zach Richman also kicked a 32-yard field goal for the Bulls to make
the halftime score 17-3.
Girls basketball
Gulliver Prep defeated West Boca 45-42, and the Bulls fell to Titusville
58-49.
Rachel Espendez led West Boca (2-3) with 19 points against Titusville.
Julie Menke added 17.
Boys soccer
American Heritage-Delray edged Mariner 2-1 Wednesday.
Hasani Sinclair had the winning goal in the 78th minute and Fred
Menor also scored for the Stallions (4-2).
