Festival of the Arts BOCA will kick off with FREE Community Events!
Published February 24th, 2008
If the impressive roster of talent that the Festival of the Arts BOCA has aligned isn’t enough – a world-renowned orchestra, soloists and the best literary program in South Florida…they have now dedicated two of the seventeen nights to bringing culture to the community for FREE!
Monday, March 3rd will begin with a showing of the film The Impressionists: Degas (2006). Following, our own Boca Ballet Theatre will perform the classic ballet, Les Sylphides by Frederyk Chopin. The dancers will perform in long tutus - a tie in with the Boca Museum of Art’s Degas exhibit and the pre-show film.
Wednesday, March 5th will continue the Community nights with a presentation of Peter and the Wolf by Sergei Prokofiev. Performed by the PickleShoes Dance Company from New York City and hosted by Ron Kapilow, this engaging performance will be accompanied by yet another community partner, the Boca Raton Symphonia.
Both performances start at 7:00 p.m. on the Count de Hoernle Amphitheater stage and promise to engage and entertain both young and old alike. Bring the kids or the grandkids for a wonderful family experience right in our own backyard!
