Fraud Charges
When Boca Raton police stopped a car on Glades Road for an alleged traffic infraction the afternoon of May 3, they arrested two women and charged them with fraud, police said.
Public Information Officer Sandra Boonenberg said the women allegedly used a credit card that did not belong to them to purchase $2,555.98 worth of goods at the Circuit City in University Commons plaza.
They were identified by police as Kim N. Jenkins, 42, of Miramar and Nicole M. Moxey, 37, of Pembroke Pines. They will be charged with organized scheme to defraud, fraudulent use of a credit card, grand theft of $300 or more, fraudulent use of a personal ID, possession of a controlled substance and possession of a stolen credit card, said police.
When officers stopped the vehicle and were interviewing the women in the car, they received a call from the Circuit City manager saying the women had allegedly used a fraudulent credit card to make the purchase.
Six Injured
Delray Beach police said six people were taken to Delray Medical Center Wednesday evening after the car they were riding in rolled over, throwing three or four of them out of the vehicle.
The accident occurred just before 7 p.m. at SW Second Street and 14th Avenue and it remains under investigation, police said.
Windshield Smashed
Boca Raton policed received a report April 25 that someone smashed the windshield of a car by using a street sign, police said.
Theft Reported
A thief or thieves entered a construction site on NW 65th Street in Boca Raton April 25 and stole copper wire and tools, said police. Items were taken from the main building and storage units, police said.
