Burglary Arrests
Boca Raton police Thursday arrested two men on charges of auto burglary, police said.
Public Information Officer Sandra Boonenberg identified them as Roderick O. Dukes, 19, and Cleo Collins, 41, both of Pompano Beach.
An alleged companion, Bobbett J. Mims, 19, also of Pompano Beach, was charged with loitering and prowling, as were the other two men.
According to police, just before 12:30 a.m. Thursday, officers were called to an apartment complex on South Federal Highway to investigate a suspicious incident. A witness reported seeing a man trying to open several car doors, then saw two men enter several vehicles.
When a suspect saw a police car, he turned and ran in the opposite direction, police said.
Eventually, police located the trio in a car and arrested them for loitering and prowling. The two men were also charged with burglary to an auto.
Credit Fraud
A Boca Raton woman called police April 28 to report that someone had used two of her credit cards at a local store. She said her purse had been stolen that same day in Fort Lauderdale, police said.
Containers Entered
Boca Raton police said four storage containers located on NW Second Avenue were broken into April 28, police said. A power washer, generator and concrete vibrator were taken, police said.
Cars Burglarized
A Boca Raton woman told police April 28 that someone burglarized her car while it was parked in her space at a complex on East Camino Real, police said. The intruder took a pair of sunglasses from the console, said police. Also, police said, another woman reported her car was broken into and the intruder took a $4,000 laptop computer, a Kate Spade handbag and a daily planner with miscellaneous papers inside, police said.
