Dog Attack
Boca Raton police responded to a call about 7:41 a.m. Sunday that two pit bull dogs were loose in the area of 8th Street, police said.
Upon arrival, officers made contact with a woman who said her neighbor’s two pit bulls entered her fenced back yard and killed her cat. The report says that while officers were speaking to the woman, they could hear loud, angry growling coming from the dogs in the back yard.
Officers then spoke with the neighbors who came into the woman’s yard to get the dogs. The pair said the dogs belong to their roommate, who is currently in jail.
Police said Palm Beach Animal Care & Control was notified and took the animals away due to lack of vaccination documentation and the violent behavior. The neighbors were issued a notice to appear in court for violation of city ordinance, animals at large, police said.
Shoplifting Report
Boca Raton police responded to Bloomingdale’s in Town Center at Boca Raton mall just before 7 p.m. April 5 to investigate a shoplifting report. Police said two young women had stolen clothing from three stores. They were released to their parents when the stores signed a refusal to prosecute form, police said.
Armed Robbery
Boca Raton said two men robbed a man with a knife at the rear of a convenience store on NW Second Avenue between 5:40 and 6 p.m. on April 5. The report said they made off with $75 and a quantity prescription painkillers, police said.
Lost Wallet
A woman told Boca Raton police tihat she lost her gray travel wallet, two passports and about $80 in cash on East Camino Real April 5, police said.
Alcohol Possession
A 19-year-old was issued a notice to appear in court for being under 21 and in possession of an alcoholic beverage, police said. The incident occurred on NE 17th Street just after 1 a.m. April 6, police said.
