Burglary Arrest
Boca Raton police arrested William Lopez, 19, of NW 15th Street, Boca Raton on a charge of robbing the Subway sandwich shop on NE 20th Street, police said.
The arrest followed a meeting Monday between Officer Matt McGarry and the store manager, who said that when he arrived at work he discovered the front and rear doors were unlocked. He also told police that $200 was missing from petty cash and the store’s surveillance tape was also gone.
Police arrested Lopez, who, according to reports, had made prior comments about robbing the store. The police report said Lopez’ brother works at the shop and had reported his key missing.
The report said Officer McGarry recovered the surveillance tape and arrested Lopez for burglarizing the business.
Warrant Arrest
Boca Raton police arrested a motorist on NW First Court about 10:20 a.m. April 3 and charged him with failure to stop at a red light. Officers found there was a warrant for his arrest. He also had a suspended driver’s license and was listed as a habitual traffic offender, police said.
Fraud Attempt
A woman contacted Boca Raton police April 3 to report that someone used her personal information to try and open a credit card account without her permission, police said.
Shoplifting Charge
Boca Raton police arrested a woman just before 1 p.m. April 3 at the Publix on NE Fifth Avenue and charged her with shoplifting $198 worth of teeth whitening products. She was released with a notice to appear in court, and also was given a trespass warning.
SUV Entered
Boca Raton police are investigating a break into a black SUV that was parked on North Federal Highway April 3. The intruder stole credit cards and an Ipod, said police.
