Identity Theft
A Boca Raton resident told police March 22 that his sister had used his Social Security number to collect unemployment checks from the government, according to Boca Raton police.
Warrant Arrest
Boca Raton police arrested a man about 3:50 a.m. March 23 on a warrant from the Palm Beach County Sheriff’s Office for failure to appear in court. He was taken to the police station for processing, then to the county jail, police said.
Theft Reported
A Boca Raton woman told police her car was burglarized while she was inside the convenience store of a gasoline station on West Glades Road, police said. She said the suspect got out of another car, walked over and took a large purse out of her vehicle. She said it contained a wallet with several credit cards. The offending vehicle left, heading east on Glades Road, police said.
Stolen Purse
A Boca Raton woman told police her black Coach purse was stolen while she was at a local club in the early morning hours March 21. Inside, she said, were a cell phone, wallet and driver’s license. A friend also had her camera, cell phone, keys and driver’s license in the bag, police said.
Threatening Calls
A resident of Boca Raton told police March 21 that he has been receiving threatening phone calls from a woman in New York that he said he had a “friendly relationship” with until the past year. He said the woman has called his friends and relatives and left threatening voicemail messages, said police.
Lost Purse
A Boca Raton woman told police she lost her purse at a local dining spot March 21. The bag contained her cell phone, driver’s license and $10 in cash, police said.
SUV Entered
A Boca Raton woman told police her SUV was burglarized. A suspect smashed the right side rear passenger window and removed a $500 stereo and an $1,100 DVD player.
