Dog Strangled
Delray Beach police are investigating the death of a dog that its owner found strangled and hanging over a fence Friday, police said.
According to police, the owner came home from work about 4:45 p.m. Friday and found the 2-year-old shepherd-hound mix named Dixie hanging from a chain link fence in the back yard. The dog had apparently been strangled with its own leash, police said.
The woman got the dog from a shelter when it was two months old, she told police.
Forgery Report
A man from Pembroke Pines told Boca Raton police March 12 to report that his ex-wife stole his credit card and forged his signature when she made a purchase at the Town Center at Boca Raton mall, police said.
Domestic Disturbance
Boca Raton police arrested a local man about 6:15 a.m. March 12 on charges of resisting with violence during a domestic disturbance investigation. Police brought the man to the ground and arrested him.
Laptop taken
A resident of Boca Raton contacted police March 12 to report that his car was broken into while in a parking lot on Park of Commerce Boulevard and a $1,300 laptop computer was taken. Police said a surveillance camera may have captured the burglary.
Lost Ring
A resident of Sarasota contacted Boca Raton police March 11 to say that a diamond ring and a gold bracelet were stolen from her hotel room while she was staying in Boca Raton late last year, police said.
Purse Stolen
A Boca Raton woman told police March 11 that her purse had been stolen several days earlier from a local tavern. She said the bag contained $1,800 in cash, credit cards and her driver’s license, said police.
