Girl Nearly Drowns

Boca Raton police said an 18-month-old girl nearly drowned in the pool at her home on Giralda Circle just before 6 p.m. Tuesday.

Police and Fire Rescue units responded to a 911 call from the girl’s mother, Stephine Farah, who said she found her daughter floating in the pool, the report says.

The mother said the child was playing with her two older sisters while she was working on her computer. When Farah checked on the children, she found the youngest floating in the pool, said police.

Farah removed the child from the pool, called 911, and with assistance from emergency dispatchers began CPR, the report says.  The girl was transported to Boca Raton Community Hospital and then transferred to Joe DiMaggio Children’s Hospital in Hollywood.

No condition report was available from the hospital.

TVs Taken

Boca Raton police said they received a report from a local condominium association Feb. 8, saying that someone had stolen two LCD television sets from the exterior gazebo.  The loss was estimated at $1,000, police said
