Fatal Crash
The Palm Beach County Sheriff’s Office reported a fatal, single-car accident on Boca Rio Road at the feeder road to West Palmetto Park Road in Boca Raton just after 6:40 a.m. Saturday, a PBSO report said.
According to the report, Kristen Marie Corl, 18, of Calibre Court, Boca Raton, was heading south on Boca Rio Road when the car struck a concrete monument, overturned and came to rest on its roof.
PBSO said Corl was ejected from the car. She was taken to West Boca Medical Center where she was pronounced dead about an hour later, the report said.
Shots Fired
Boca Raton police are investigating a report of shots fired just after 2:20 a.m. Saturday in the parking lot of the parking lot of Denny's Restaurant, 1311 West Palmetto Park Road, police said.
Public Information Officer Sandra Boonenberg said that when police arrived, all the parties involved had fled. Witnesses described the vehicle as a gray Chevy Impala.
Officers search the area, including I-95, but were unable to locate the suspects or their vehicle, said Booneneberg. According to witnesses, the Chevy Impala was possibly seen earlier in the evening in downtown Boca Raton.

Drug Charge
Boca Raton police arrested a suspect about 2:40 a.m. Feb. 16 and charged him with possession of under 20 grams of marijuana. Police leveled the charge after the man’s car was stopped on SE 3rd St., police said. He was processed and released on his own recognizance, police said.
Business Burglary
Boca Raton police are investigating a burglary at an eyeglass store on St. Andrews Boulevard, a report said. According to police, someone pried out the front door glass and stole $55,000 worth of designer glasses frames.
Concealed Weapon
Boca Raton police arrested a 27-year-old man about 6:50 p.m. Feb. 16 and charged him with possession of a concealed weapon (brass knuckles), said police. The man’s car was stopped on Palmetto Park Road. He was processed and released on his own recognizance, said police.
