Credit Fraud

Boca Raton police are investigating the theft of a wallet and subsequent use of several credit cards that were inside.

A police report said the victim said her wallet was stolen Feb. 21 while she was at work.  The report said she was notified that afternoon by one of her credit card companies that her card had been used at several local stores.  The total of the charges was $3,432.34, said police.

Camera Stolen

A Boca Raton man told police Feb. 15 that someone stole a camera from his home. The camera and its memory card are valued at $600, he told police.

Ongoing Thefts

A resident of Boca Raton told police Feb. 15 that during the past six months, various hand and power tools have been stolen from a storage shed behind his home.  He said the tools are worth about $2,000. 

Purse Stolen

A woman from Boca Raton told police Feb. 15 that her car was broken into while it was parked on Glades Road.  Police said a window was smashed, and the intruder stole her purse.

Fare Evasion

Boca Raton police arrested a 35-year-old man at the Boca Tri-Rail station about 3:10 p.m. Feb. 15 and charged him with fare evasion, police said.  He was issued a notice to appear in court, then released, said police.

Lost Wallets

Two men reported losing wallets in separate incidents reported Feb. 15, said Boca Raton police.

One man said he lost his wallet while shopping at the Town Center at Boca Raton mall, police said.  It contained $47, his Florida driver’s license and Social Security card.

Another man said he lost his wallet on SE 5th Street.  He said it contained several credit cards and his New York driver’s license.
