Diamond Stolen
Boca Raton police received a report Feb. 1 from a SE 5th Avenue resident who said a $40,000 Cartier diamond was stolen from her bedroom. She said a service person was working in the house at the time of the theft, the report said.
Burglary Halted
Boca Raton police said two men entered a home on North Military Trail just after 10 p.m. on Feb. 1, but were confronted by the residents and fled.
Drug Paraphernalia
An employee of Saks Fifth Avenue Store at the Town Center at Boca Raton mall told police Feb. 1 he found a crack pipe in the men’s restroom while he was cleaning the area. Police confiscated the item, the report said.
Car Entered
A Boca Raton resident reported to police Feb. 1 that someone smashed the passenger side window of his car and removed a computer bag with a laptop computer inside. Also taken were two watches valued at $10,000, he said. A checkbook and a leather briefcase were also stolen, the man reported.
Ladders Gone
Two eight-foot aluminum ladders were reported stolen Feb. 1 from a construction site on NW Beacon Square Boulevard, police said. They were valued at about $150 each, said the report.
Shoplift Foiled
Boca Raton police said a man tried to make off with about $399 worth of meat, shrimp, laundry detergent and toilet paper from the Publix Supermarket on NE 5th Avenue Feb. 1. When the man left the store, the manager grabbed the shopping cart from him, police said. The man ran off without taking anything.
Beer Theft
A man entered the CVS Store on South Federal Highway in Boca Raton Feb. 1 and stole an 18-pack of beer, according to police. He removed the item from the cooler and left without paying, the report says.
