Pedestrian Fatality

Delray Beach police said a man was killed in a car-pedestrian accident just after 9:40 p.m. Saturday in the 4100 block of West Atlantic Avenue.

Public Information Officer Jeff Messer identified the victim as Brian Edward Wobschall, 47, a resident of Delray Beach.

Messer said the driver was heading west on Atlantic. He said the victim “had either fallen or was lying down in the same right travel lane” when he was hit. He said drivers of other vehicles that had just missed striking the victim had begun taking actions to prevent an accident.

The driver of the car involved was identified by police as Anne Munoz, 50, of Delray Beach.

Messer said traffic homicide investigators are waiting for toxicology results on both of those involved. As yet, he said, no charges have been filed.

Anyone with information is asked to call Traffic Homicide Investigator Richard Jacobson at (561) 243-7855.
