Delray Fatality
Delray Beach police said a traffic crash reported Jan. 22 at 8:05
p.m. resulted in the death of one of the drivers.
Public Information Officer Jeff Messer said Ulistre Orilas, 61, of
NW 3rd St., Delray Beach, was driving a 1993 Nissan westbound on Lake
Ida Road, and appears to have crossed the center line and collided
head-on with a 2006 Volkswagen traveling eastbound.
Messer said Orilas died at the scene. An autopsy said listed the
cause of death as abdominal and chest trauma, Messer said.
The driver of the Volkswagen, Brian Vulbrock, 29, of SE 6th St.,
Delray Beach, was not seriously hurt, police said.
Messer said the victim was not wearing a seat belt. Police also said
a torrential rain was falling at the time and “weather could
have been a contributing factor in this incident,” the report
said.

Cars Burglarized
Boca Raton police said seven unlocked cars in six driveways in Boca
Raton were burglarized Jan. 10, police said. A brown briefcase and
a portable XM radio were taken from one of the cars. Nothing was taken
from any of the others, police said.
GPS Stolen
A resident of Boca Raton told police Jan. 15 that someone entered
her vehicle while it was parked on NW Second Avenue and stole a GPS
system and her purse and its contents, said police.
Jewelry Theft
Boca Raton police are investigating the theft of jewelry from a home
reported Jan. 15, police said. The report said police found no signs
of forced entry.
Bike Taken
A Boca Raton man told police Jan. 15 that someone stole his mountain
bike from the area in front of his apartment, a police report said.
