Wire Stolen
Boca Raton police are investigating the theft of copper wire from
a construction site on North Military Trail. The incident was reported
Jan. 28. According to the report, a person or persons stole 148 feet
of copper wire from a large reel located on the southeast side of
the property.
Sensor Taken
A resident of West Boca Raton told police Jan. 28 that someone stole
an $850 sensor from the front of her car while it was parked on West
Glades Road, Boca Raton police said.
Identity Theft
A resident of Miami called Boca Raton police Jan. 28 to report that
someone had stolen his identity as used a debit card at two liquor
stores in Boca Raton. The person made purchases of $122 and $117,
police said.
Trailer Stolen
Boca Raton police said a trailer was reported stolen from a business
on Congress Avenue in Boca Raton. The theft was reported Jan. 28,
said police.
Online Fraud
A resident of Boca Raton reported to police Jan. 28 that someone
had used her debit number online two days earlier. She said she received
a call from a credit union in Denver that someone had used her number
of make $431 worth of fraudulent online purchases, said police.
Purse Stolen
A Boca Raton woman told police Jan. 28 that someone smashed the passenger
window of her SUV and stole her purse that was partially hidden under
a seat.
Drug Charge
Boca Raton police issued a local woman a notice to appear in court
after she was found to be in possession of a marijuana pipe and a
rolled-up dollar bill with an unknown white residue on it. The incident
occurred about 9 p.m. Jan. 28, said police.
Juvenile Arrest
A 17-year-old boy was arrested on charges of loitering and prowling
on Manchester Street in Boca Raton about 10:20 p.m. Jan. 28. Police
said they saw him flee from the parking lot of a closed business on
his bicycle.
