Attempted Robbery
Boca Raton police are investigating an attempted armed robbery that
occurred just before 6 p.m. Jan. 20.
Public Information Officer Sandra Boonenberg said the victim was
walking his dog in the 1800 block of SW 12th Avenue when a dark colored
Jeep Cherokee or Liberty with tinted windows pulled along next to
him. A man leaned out of the window, pointed a gun at the victim,
and demanded his property, police said.
The report said the victim took cover behind a concrete pole and
the vehicle fled the scene, traveling eastbound on SW 20th Street.
No property was taken and the victim was not injured, police said.

Auto Burglarized
Boca Raton police received a call from a local woman Jan. 6 who reported
that her SUV was broken into. Police said a side passenger window
was smashed. A black purse containing two debit cards, a Social Security
card, license, checkbook and a cell phone was stolen from the vehicle,
said police.
Juveniles Arrested
Boca Raton police arrested two female juveniles for allegedly shoplifting
at Macy’s Department Store in the Town Center at Boca Raton
mall just before 6:30 p.m. Jan. 6. A loss prevention officer reported
that the girls stole about $145 worth of merchandise. Both were processed
and released to parents, police said.
Restaurant Entered
Boca Raton police are investigating a burglary reported Jan. 16 at
a downtown Boca Raton restaurant. The intruder smashed a picture frame
containing $100 and $20 bills, police said. The thief entered and
left via a rear door, said police.
Phone Stolen
The cashier at a Boca Raton car wash told police Jan. 16 that someone
stole her $160 cellular telephone from her workplace. She said the
phone was near the cash register when it was taken, said police
