Burglary Arrests
Boca Raton police have arrested two suspects allegedly involved in
four auto burglaries that occurred in the 1200 block of NW 13th Street,
police said.
The suspects were identified by police as Donald Michaud, 20, of
Kingsbridge Street and Sander Desty, 18, of North Dixie Highway, both
in Boca Raton.
Public Information Officer Sandra Boonenberg said that about 4:20
a.m. Jan. 8, witnesses saw the two suspects forcing open the door
of a car using screwdrivers. The witnesses called police and provided
a description of the suspects and their vehicle.
Several officers responded to the area and located the alleged suspects
attempting to flee in a car. Officers stopped the vehicle and observed
stereo equipment and screwdrivers in plain view, according to a report.
Police said the stolen property was recovered.
Police Chase
A man that Boca Raton police found slumped over the steering wheel
of his car on North Federal Highway Dec. 16 apparently woke up and
tried to flee. Police said the man drove northbound on Federal Highway,
went through a red light, then over a median. The driver finally stopped
Federal and NE 20th Street. The suspect was charged with fleeing and
eluding, resisting without violence and other traffic violations,
police said.
Check Theft
A Boca Raton woman told police Dec. 16 that while she was on vacation,
someone stole a blank check from her checkbook, forged her signature
and cashed it, according to police.
Smashed Window
A Boca Raton woman told police Dec. 16 that someone smashed the rear
passenger window of her car, but took nothing from the vehicle, police
said.
Store Vandalized
Boca Raton police said someone dumped two bags of sand in the doorway
of a store on NE Mizner Boulevard. Also, the vandal or vandals tossed
a sale sign into a Dumpster, police said.
