ELIZABETH P. GERHARDT

Elizabeth P. Gerhardt, passed away on April 3, 2008. Born in the Panama, Canal Zone on April 23, 1919, she was a resident of Maracaibo, Venezuela until 1978 when she moved to Boca Raton. She served as an assistant to the Captain of the Port in the Canal Zone during WWII and was a school teacher in Maracaibo for many years. She was married to the late Fred Gerhardt, a member of the Boca Raton Rotary Club, who passed away on July 8, 1998. Elizabeth is survived by her daughter Lianne (Charlie) LaVoy of Tequesta, FL and two grandchildren, Bryce Gilbert of Asheville, NC and Logan Gilbert of San Francisco, CA. Visitation will take place Monday April 7 from 10AM to noon at the Kraeer Funeral Home 1353 North Federal Highway, Boca Raton. The chapel service will be held at 12PM. Interment will follow at Forest Lawn North Cemetery in Pompano Beach. In lieu of flowers the family requests donations to be made to Hospice of Palm Beach County.
