MARGARET TOBIASSEN
Rotterdam, NY- Margaret S. Tobiassen, 83, formerly of Scotch Ridge
Rd., Rotterdam, at rest Sunday February 3, 2008 at Glendale Nursing
Home, Glenville, NY.
Born in West Camp, NY Margaret was the daughter of the late Oscar
and Irene Lewis Schlenker. She was the beloved wife of 54 years to
Ernest Austin Tobiassen who died September 12, 2000. Beloved mother
of Linda Foust of Rotterdam, Melanie “Poppi” Mercier and
Nancy Stinson, both of Boca Raton, Florida, John Tobiassen of Rotterdam;
Beloved sister of Luella Baker of Stafford, Virginia, Bertram Schlenker
of Phoenix, Arizona. Loving grandmother of Jonathan Stinson. Loving
step grandmother of Wendy Labbe, Jeb Fuller, Amy Sullivan, Penny Rincavage,
Joan Bourg and twelve step great grandchildren. Margaret is also survived
by several nieces, nephews and cousins.
Margaret was a graduate of Saugerties High School. She received
her RN from Benedictine Hospital School of Nursing. She was employed
as a nurse for Greene County Memorial Hospital, Samaritan Hospital,
Ellis Hospital, and Fletcher Allen Hospital in Burlington, Vermont.
She was also employed as t. Director of Nursing, University Heights,
Albany and Assistant Director of Nursing for the Teresian House in
Albany. After leaving health care she became a Real Estate Agent,
working for Prudential and later Gallet Realty for over ten years.
Margaret enjoyed knitting, playing piano and golf and also enjoyed
bowling with her husband in the Schenectady Dorp Mixed League and
also was an avid Yankee fan. Funeral services were held in Schenectady,
NY
Burial was in Saratoga National Cemetery. Contributions in lieu
of flowers may be made to the Childrens Museum of Boca Raton, 498
Crawford Blvd., Boca Raton, FL.

Richard J. Garcher, 80, of Boca Raton passed away on Thursday, February
