Boca Raton police have questioned a man about his possible connection to the abduction of a woman and her son at the Town Center at Boca Raton mall last August.

No information about the questioning was available at press time.

The man was spotted at the Aventura Mall by an unidentified person who called Crime Stoppers. The tip was transferred to Boca police.

According to Boca Police spokeswoman Sandra Boonenberg, the anonymous caller said the man was acting suspiciously – and he resembled the sketch previously released by Crime Stoppers of a suspect in the Aug. 7 armed abduction of a woman and her 2-year-old son from the mall.

Aventura police arrested the man for disorderly conduct.

Boonenberg said the caller reported that while at the Aventura Mall about 2:40 p.m. on April 30, a woman and her child exited the mall at the Nordstrom exit, and the man appeared to be following them.

Members of the Boca Police Department/Palm Beach County Sheriff’s Office Task Force obtained the surveillance tape from Nordstrom.

“We are asking anyone having information to call our tips line at (561) 416-3331. Callers can remain anonymous.”

Police are trying to determine if the suspect who abducted the woman Aug. 7 is the same person who shot and killed Nancy Bochicchio, 47, and her daughter, Joey Bochicchio-Hauser, Dec. 12 in the mall parking lot.
