Boca man charged with online soliciting

Published May 8th, 2008

FROM STAFF REPORTS

The Palm Beach County Sheriff’s Office has charged a Boca Raton man with soliciting a minor online, and also with traveling to meet the youth, allegedly to engage in sexual conduct, a PBSO report says.

It identifies the suspect as Jonathan E. Clark, 35, of North Branch Road in Boca Raton.

According to the report, the suspect’s email was picked up online by an officer with the Child Exploitation Online Protection Center.  An undercover officer set up a web account posing as a 13-year-old boy.  The suspect allegedly sent sexually explicit emails to the officer, police said, and also arranged to meet the “teen” at a fast-food restaurant in Lake Worth, where he was taken into custody.
