Palm Beach County commissioners have approved using $300,000 in Federal Community Development Block Grant funds for the purchase and installation of an emergency generator at the Comprehensive Community Care Network.
CCCN is a community health care center at 2330 S. Congress Avenue, in the Village of Palm Springs. The work includes the construction of a concrete slab for the generator, the installation of the generator, fuel tank and fuel lines, and all electrical connections and automatic transfer switches.
This is another in a series of such installations throughout the county, either funded by a community association and then managed by the county, or fully funded by tax dollars as in the CCCN case.
However, no county funds are required for the CCCN installation commissioners said.
Other Business
In other recent business commissioners:
- Approved a $63,767 supplemental agreement with Metric Engineering, Inc. for professional services. This supplemental agreement will provide the services necessary to revise the Pond Siting Report and the right-of-way procurement map for Northlake Boulevard from Seminole Pratt Whitney Road to Coconut Boulevard. A supplemental agreement was necessary, commissioners said, because the cumulative value of additional services since the contract was singed in 2004 exceeds $200,000.
- Amended a joint participation agreement with the Florida Department of Transportation to modify the required begin construction date to no later than June 15, 2009 for the intersection improvements at SR-708/Blue Heron Boulevard and Congress
Approved extension to 2013 of an agreement with the Town of Palm Beach allowing for interoperable communications through the countywide common groups of the county’s 800MHz radio system.
