Sun never sets on Boca-based Aplicor, Inc

The sun never sets on locations where software solutions from Boca Raton based Aplicor are in use – almost.

The world has 24 time zones, and “we’re used across 23 time zones,” laughs Aplicor CEO Chuck Schaeffer.

Use of Aplicor software applications by the 7,800-employee US Department of Commerce (DOC) accounts for that feat, Schaeffer told the Boca Raton News.  The DOC in fact uses Aplicor software in 91 different countries.  Increasing US exports is the DOC goal, Schaeffer said, “and our system is the primary system to do that.”

The firm is a global software publisher of subscription-based and hosted Customer Relationship Management (CRM) software solutions provider, along with “back office financial systems,” Schaeffer said.

And while Schaeffer is proud that his firm touches the lives of many persons, he believes the world is now ready for Aplicor to expand both horizontally and vertically. “The market appetite on Wall Street is very high for what we do,” Schaeffer said.

As such, Aplicor will join 14 other of Florida’s best early-stage prospects May 16 in Orlando where each firm will make 10-minute presentations to an audience of venture capitalists, private equity investors, angel investors, investment bankers, financial intermediaries and entrepreneurs.  Equity financing in the goal, Schaeffer said.

Many Awards

In addition to being used in 91 nations around the world, Applicor has also been the industry’s most independently awarded CRM application from 2004 through 2006.

Aplicor has been twice named the Best Product Development Company in North America by the American Business Association and three times named the product of the year by Technology Marketing Corporation (TMCT) and Customer Inter@action Solutions® magazine. All together, Aplicor has been recognized with 19 industry awards including four Users Choice Awards, two CRM Excellence Awards, two Technology Business of the Year awards, Hosted CRM Winner, CRM WizKids Winner, Internet Technology Showcase Winner and the Best of the Best Award.

And while the DOC is the firm’s largest customer, Host.net in Boca Raton joins other, larger firms that use Aplicor.  Schaeffer said that computer chip giant Intel uses Aplicor, along with the Ford Motor company firms of Jaguar and Range Rover, among many others.

Venture Forum

The May 16 Orlando event is sponsored by the Florida Venture Forum. The Forum is Florida’s oldest and largest statewide support group for venture capitalists and entrepreneurs, helping emerging growth companies come together with sources of capital from across the country.

Throughout the year, the Florida Venture Forum provides monthly programs on a statewide basis.  For additional information, visit the web site at http://www.floridaventureforum.org or e-mail robin@floridaventureforum.org.
