County commissioners have exercised the second one-year renewal option
with CH2M Hill, Inc. for the continued performance of professional
planning and design services related to the Palm Beach the improvement
program at Palm Beach County Airports.
The original $2.5 million contract was approved in 2005, and six
subsequent amendments increased it by $9 million. The renewal option
has no financial impact, commissioners said.
PBCC Lease
In other airport news, commissioners have approved a short-term lease
of property at Palm Beach International Airport (PBIA) to Palm Beach
Community College (PBCC)
PBCC has actually used the property since 2001 for its Fire/EMS Training
Program, but is in the process of finding a new location, creating
the need for a new short-term lease, commissioners said. The lease
will cost $5,038 monthly, and the lease may be terminated with 15
days notice.
Other Business
• Approved a Supplemental Joint Participation Agreement (SJPA)
with the Florida Department of Transportation (FDOT). The supplemental
agreement will permit the use of state funds to construct hangars
and infrastructure at Palm Beach County Park Airport (Lantana), with
no increase in funding, said commissioners.
• Voted to receive and file the following eight agreements
on behalf of the Department of Airports: North County General Aviation
Airport hangar lease agreement with Skylane Flights, LLC; agreement
to terminate hangar lease agreement with Edward Dale; agreement to
terminate hangar lease agreement with Rodin Younessi; airline operating
and lease agreement with Frontier Airlines, Inc; general aeronautical
services agreement with Jet Aircraft Maintenance, Inc; non-concessionaire
rental car airport permit with E-Z Rent A Car, Inc; non-concessionaire
rental car airport permit with Fort Lauderdale Auto Leasing Corp;
