Tossed comes to Boca
Tossed, an upscale, quick-service restaurant specializing in made-to-order
salads, has announced it is opening in the Shops at Boca Grove in early
December. This restaurant will be the first Tossed location in Boca
Raton.
Tossed focuses primarily on green-leaf salads tossed to order in
front of customers who can choose from a selection of chef-designed
specialty salads or design their own from a diverse menu of high-end
ingredients.
The menu also features sandwiches, crepes, melts, soups, smoothies
and desserts. Customers can either order on-line or watch their order
being tossed or wrapped in a homemade, fat-free, whole-wheat crepe
by Tossed’s professional staff before being delivered to their
table.
The first Tossed opened in New York City in July 1998. New York Magazine
has hailed Tossed as New York’s “Best Salad” and
Restaurant Business described it as “one of the pioneers in
the savvy salad movement.”
In 2000, Tossed became the world’s first online salad bar,
allowing customers to place orders from the desktop or laptop for
pick-up or delivery, a trend which continues today. Tossed had the
distinction of being named to Fast Casual Magazine’s Top 100
Movers and Shakers list in 2006.
