Village will be accepting “luxury items” for those who
are less fortunate in South Floridian communities. Luxury items include:
socks, undergarments, toiletries (especially toothbrushes, toothpaste,
shampoo/conditioner, soap, deodorant and razors), baby diapers and
formula. Typically, only food and clothing are donated to the poor.The
drive is operated in partnership with the Oasis Compassion Agency,
a non-profit based in Lake Worth, FL. Donations can be dropped off
at the front desk at Classic Residence by Hyatt in Boca Raton, 22601
Camino Del Mar, Boca Raton.
• JM Family Enterprises, Inc. in Deerfield Beach has announced
that Sonya R. Deen has joined the company as Vice President, Government
Relations. Deen joins JM Family with 13 years of political and governmental
experience across the southeastern U.S. Prior to joining the company,
Deen served as Senior Director of State Government Relations for Diageo,
the world’s leading manufacturer of premium alcoholic beverages.
In her role there, she oversaw nine states’ government, trade,
and community relations activities. Prior to her role with Diageo,
she served as a governmental consultant for the Tallahassee law firm
of Skelding, Labasky, Daws and Cox, PA. In the mid 1990’s, Deen
served under Florida Secretary of State Sandra B. Mortham, overseeing
press activities, special events, and several heritage publications.
• JM Family Enterprises, Inc. has also announced that Dr. Richard
Luceri has joined the company as Vice President, Medical Services.
Dr. Luceri joins JM Family with nearly 30 years of experience in healthcare.
In his new role, Dr. Luceri will oversee JM Family’s Medical
Services – and spearhead innovative programs that will benefit
all associates and their families. Wellness and prevention will be
his primary goals, along with excellence in medical evaluation and
treatment. JM Family currently staffs on-site medical clinics at five
locations in three states. The Medical Services team includes physicians,
nurses, selected specialists, physical therapists, and a dietician
and varies by location. The team provides care for associates, spouses
and dependents age 16 and older.
• Joseph “Jay” B. Shearouse III has been promoted
to market president of National City’s Southeast Florida region.
Shearouse succeeds 45-year-veteran Vince Elhilow, who will retire
at the end of this year. In this role, Shearouse will oversee all
of National City’s operations in the market, with specific responsibility
in corporate banking. Previously executive vice president of corporate
lending, Shearouse has been with the bank, formerly Fidelity Federal
Bank & Trust, for more than 25 years.
